Service Description

Kids Surf Club is for ages from 6 to 18. Our surf instructors are RLSS qualified beach lifeguards and I.S.A. (International surfing association) or Surfing England surfing coaches. They are all D.B.S cleared. Please could you arrive at least 15 minutes early for your surf lesson. All equipment is supplied however you will need to bring a towel & some warm clothing. Our lessons consists of the following elements: - Introduction - Equipment issue & getting into your wetsuit (which is a lesson in itself at first) - Beach & water safety - Description of board and leash - Beach demonstration of surfing and correct entry into the sea - Warm up followed by entry into the sea - Catching a wave and correct prone position on board (lying down) - Water confidence building - Correction and praise Once everybody has successfully caught waves and felt the surge and rush of a breaking wave we exit the water together. Next on the beach we demonstrate paddling your board, correct hand & foot position and the hard bit, standing up (on land). The class then have a go at paddling and then jumping up to the standing position on their board, this also tells us if they have a natural or goofy stance (Surfy term for left or right foot forward). We then all enter the sea and begin to catch waves and start stand up surfing.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy Surf School Terms and Conditions Advance Booking Policy: Customers that wish to book surf hire or lessons in advance are required to pay the amounts detailed below: Public Sessions – Payment in full at time of booking. 1:1 Sessions – Payment in full at time of booking. Kids Parties – Payment in full at time of booking or agreed deposit. Private Group Sessions (2+ people) – A minimum of £50 deposit is payable at the time of booking. The remainder of the balance is due a minimum of 7 days prior to the commencement of the lesson. Hire – Payment in full at time of booking. Cancellation Policies: All public surf lessons (excludes private group sessions): Lessons can be rescheduled to a different available time up to 48 hours prior to the booking. Bookings must be rescheduled online or a request to reschedule must be received by email to longsandsurf@gmail.com at least 48 hours prior to the bookings start time. Unfortunately once this time has passed we are not always able to change the booking. Failure to contact us to reschedule in advance of a booking will be classed as a no-show and no rescheduling will be allowed. Private Group/party Sessions: Participants cancelling over 15 days prior to the booking will have the option of rescheduling the booking or receiving a credit note in the amount of the cancelled booking. Participants cancelling up to 14 days prior to the reserved booking date will have the option of rescheduling the booking or will lose the deposit paid or £50 of the total booking cost if paid in full. Participants who cancel less than 24 hours before the booking start time will not receive a refund. Participants who do not show up on the reserved booking date will also not receive a refund. Our Right to Cancel although we will always endeavour to notify customers in advance, for safety reasons and the fact we can’t control the weather we reserve the right to cancel, modify or restrict hires or activities at any time prior to or during the hire/activity without prior notification. Customers will be entitled to the following if we cancel an activity (except in the event of antisocial behaviour). This policy will also apply in the event that UK government advice suddenly limits our activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hires and activities not started: Surfing is weather dependent and we cannot control the weather. We are a small company and we cannot always provide refunds. These lessons can be rescheduled or a credit note valid for 1 year provided. If a refund is agreed upon, there will be a £5 per person admin charge. Please Note: No compensation will be payable for any other expenses or losses customers incur in relation to the cancellation of the activity. Hires and activities already underway: These can be rescheduled to an alternative date or you will be provided with a discount code for future activities / purchases. Refunds & Credit Notes If you are entitled to a refund, we can only refund you to the original payment method. If a refund is agreed upon we will charge £5 per person admin/booking fee. If we are rescheduling something paid by a voucher that will have expired because the booking didn’t go ahead we will extend the voucher to give you a chance to rebook. Credit Notes (Activities): If you accept a voucher for a cancelled activity, it is valid for 1 year. Vouchers are non-refundable.
